Soy once accepted as the cure for many of our problems
is now the subject of controversy
about whether it will heal us or harm us
PROS
- Isoflavones
- Essential fatty acids
- High quality proteins
- Low in fat
There is research that shows that soy reduces
- Risk of Breast Cancer by reducing the effect of estrogen on the body especially for young girls
- Risk of Prostate Cancer
- PMS & Menopausal symptoms including hot flashes
- Risk of Osteoporosis and hip fractures in older women
- Cholesterol especially ‘bad’ (LDL ) Cholesterol
- Risk of heart disease

CONS
Some medical experts caution women against eating too much soy
- Soy may increase the risk of breast cancer in women by adding high levels of estrogen.
- There are suggestions that several learning disabilities are the result of high manganese
levels in soy products during child brain development.

In recent years, there has been research saying
that Asian soy foods are fermented.
Fermentation removes toxins & inhibits
some of the side effects
that are being blamed on soy.
